We were fortunate the home we bought had a solid structure and needed very few repairs. Our main concern was temperature control. There was very little insulation in the original structure, and new insulation was required in the floors, outer walls, and attic.

We worked directly with the head of the company, especially during the initial planning stages of this project. He is a scholar. Deeply knowledgeable on the physics behind temperature differentials, airflow, etc. I could tell that he personally enjoyed working out the problem of how to keep the space cool in the summer and warm in the winter beyond any professional obligation. In the end, his solution worked exactly as designed. My family and I were most comfortable during the winter season and are optimistic for the upcoming summer.

Anju Homes was surprisingly flexible in accommodating our various requests. We wanted to keep some of the original ceiling, and they creatively came up with a way to reinstall the wood. We wanted a very specific type of drywall and paint for the interior walls, and they were willing to coordinate with another contractor. I feel like most larger renovation companies would have simply said it was not possible and left it at that. I appreciated the flexibility and creativity.

We did have a bit of friction when discussing the budget. I felt that the budget was not sufficiently transparent and that the itemization didn't match the way the work was being done. For me, transparency is trust. I would be far happier knowing the actual cost of material and labor as well as the profit margin that the company is taking, rather than trying to guess. I pushed back on the budget several times and was given only slightly more details each time, which was frustrating. The justification provided for vague categories was that the exact cost can never be known for sure and that things come up during construction that get absorbed by the budget. I believe that to an extent. However, the actual expenses should be known by the end of the project, and a complete breakdown was never shared with us. I understand that this is typical behavior by companies in this industry, but it undermined our relationship with Anju Homes and caused a great deal of stress during the project. Transparency is trust.

During construction, the job site was immaculate. I came to the property most days and found everything clean and organized no matter when I stopped in. It was also plain to see the carpenter's high level of skill and mastery over their trade. Perfectly squared. Perfectly spaced. No shortcuts. I do DIY projects and have learned just how hard it is to cut a straight line. Since moving in, I have only gained a deeper admiration for the experience that the carpenters brought to this project. The quality of the construction is very high.

I would like to give a special shout out to the foreman on our project. He demonstrated great leadership and excellent communication skills. I saw him walk onto the job site and transform the atmosphere with his kind demeanor, encouragement, and gentle pushing to be their best. It was very easy to see how much his team respected him as a person.

In 2026, good help is hard to find. Finding people who are able to deliver on their promises is even harder. Getting someone to think creatively and flexibly to accommodate specific customer requests might be hardest. Anju Homes was all of these things. Good help. Able to deliver. Flexible and creative.

設計段階では、ショールームに同行して設備の説明をしていただいたり、気になっていたスタイルのOBさん宅や完成見学会にも案内していただき、実物を見ながらイメージを固めることができました。特にOBさん宅の見学では、我が家の設計コンセプトを決めるきっかけとなり、とても感謝しています。設計の方、インテリアコーディネーターの方なども沢山私達の趣向をヒアリングされ、取り入れたかったお洒落ポイントも上手く形にしていただきました。

施工が始まってからも、養生が丁寧に見受けられて安心感があります。珍しい断熱材であるセルロースファイバーの吹付け現場も見学させていただき、貴重な体験になりました。土地探しから施工まで一貫して丁寧に対応していただき、完成が近づく中でとても楽しみにしています。
